Press Release: DuPage County Board Candidates Suratwala (D1), Selmon (D1), and Afzal (D4) Announce Event with Cards Against Humanity

September 21, 2018

CHICAGO – Democratic candidates for DuPage County Board Zahra Suratwala, Ashley Selmon, and Hadiya Afzal are having an event and fundraiser hosted by Cards Against Humanity on October 4th.

Hadiya, Zahra, and Ashley are all supported by Run for Something, a national group led by Amanda Litman and Ross Morales-Rocketto that helps young people and first-time candidates run for office to fix problems in their community. These three women are running to improve country infrastructure and transportation, cut unnecessary county board spending including a $52,000/year salary to meet once a week, and focus more on the opioid crisis that threatens the very heart of our community.

“Cards Against Humanity is proud to support the urgent work of Run for Something, and their exciting candidates like Hadiya, Ashley, and Zahra,” said Cards Against Humanity co-creator Max Temkin. “DuPage County needs new ideas and fresh energy, just like the rest of the country.”

Student tickets for the event will be available for $15, with regular tickets priced at $40. The event will take place at the Cards Against Humanity offices at 1917 N Elston Avenue, Chicago. Doors open at 6:00pm, and tickets may be purchased at the following link:
