Press Release: Suratwala campaign builds momentum, submits triple the amount of required signatures for nomination

ELMHURST – Zahra Suratwala’s campaign for DuPage County Board is resonating with voters across the 1st District. Suratwala submitted more than triple the required amount of nomination signatures to qualify for the ballot, receiving nominations from 450 DuPage 1st District residents and neighbors.

“I am honored that so many DuPage residents have signed on to support our campaign already,” said Zahra Suratwala. “There is an overwhelming desire for a more diverse and representative County Board, and our campaign looks forward to sharing our message of change with voters across District 1 in the coming months.”

If elected, Zahra will be an advocate for the middle-class families of DuPage County. She will work to lower property taxes, secure quality of life, and deliver the future that residents and their children deserve.

She is also running to bring a more diverse perspective to the DuPage County Board – as a citizen, a woman, and a Muslim. She passionately believes that women need to be better represented at all levels of government, as more women leaders create greater women’s empowerment.
